About Lakshmi
Award-winning journalist working to shine a light on the best of humanity.
Lakshmi is an anchor, features contributor and former guest news host for NPR. As a field reporter for the radio documentary program SoundPrint, Lakshmi interviewed women in Haiti at the forefront of the fight against HIV/AIDS. She also met with U.S. farmers who worked to counter swine flu and other outbreaks. Lakshmi is a strong proponent of local newsrooms, the public information lifeline of communities across the United States. She's a proud alumna of member stations WAMU in Washington D.C., WMFE in Orlando, KPBX in Spokane, and WAER in Syracuse.
